People Who Enjoy Reading My Blog--do you?

About Me

I am just a young lady living in the hills of Northern Michigan on a family farm. I love my Savior and my family very much. I the fourth child in our family, the third from the youngest. I have two older sisters, one older brother and two younger brothers. One of my older sisters is married and has two sweet little boys who I refer to as Buddy and Izzy on my blog. They are so precious and I love being their Auntie!

I started my blog in August of 2009. I began blogging because I wanted to share pictures that I took and I wanted to write. No, I am not perfect at writing at all, but I do enjoy it.
If you read my blog in the winter you will see how much I love to cross-country ski. Since I was five years old I would go out skiing with my family and now I can't ever let a winter pass by without going out skiing!
Something about going out in the dead of winter with your family- God's awesome creation all about you is almost too much for words to describe. It is beautiful.
I love music. I grew up with music, Daddy plays guitar and Mama plays the flute. Daddy has always told us not to play to entertain others but to glorify God with the skills He blesses us with. I will always remember that. When I was seven years old was when I really began to take interest in playing an instrument. The piano was what I really wanted to play. So, when you don't have a piano you make do- right? So, I "made do". . . I took a piece of cardboard and drew piano keys on it =D. It did not work too well. Soon after that, Mama and I would go down to our neighbor's and Mama would give me lessons. I think Mama gave me about 5 lessons, and from there I just figured stuff out on my own. My grandparents gave us a small keyboard and that was when I really learned because I had keys of my own to practice on every day. After that some friends of ours gave us a real piano. And I have been playing ever since. I play the guitar also, I started when I was about 8. A couple years ago Daddy bought a mandolin for me and my brothers to play. I can play that, but not very well. My youngest brother can play it really good.  I really want to play the fiddle and the dobro. My sister has a fiddle and she lets me play it sometimes. I hope to get one of my own some day.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog. Have a wonderful day in Jesus.
Blessings,
Hannah of Marilla Heights
