what's new in my life...

At the end of July, I applied for a baking position at a natural food store in Traverse City MI (Oryana Natural Foods Market). I was called in for an interview, and a few days latter, a second one in which I got the job! So, at the beginning of this month I started working there. I work there about 4-5 days a week. Because it is a distance from our farm I am living part time in Traverse City. I normally work Wednesday through Saturday and then come home Sunday or Monday and stay until Wednesday morning. There are days when I miss my family and our country home crazy bad, but a lot of times I am keeping busy with enough stuff that I don't.
I have met many sweet friends that live in traverse and I am so blessed to have them as friends. I really am missing being with other believers though. I do not really know anybody in Traverse City who knows the Lord and that is really hard. I believe that this is the place I am to be in my life right now, and I am resting in HIM!
Until Next time,
Hannah

I caught a seagull with me two bare hands!

Last week, Mama Enoch, Nathanael and I went up to Empire MI and drove around by sleeping bear dunes. My brothers and I ran down a HUGE bluff. There were a bunch of seagulls on the lake shore at the bottom. I ran up to them, and they all flew away except one, which ran into the water... I went into the water after him, and he just let me pick him up! I climbed up the entire bluff while holding onto him! That was pretty hard, being the bluff is oh so steep and it was VERY hot out... but we made it to the top eventually. Some people who I presume were fudgies, kindly took some photos for me (I did not have my camera). I don't know what was wrong with the seagull, but it was very surprising that he let me pick him up!
We let him go at a small body of water.

Grace an I are staying a whole week in Traverse City. Grace has to run our friend's Bed and Breakfast while our friend is gone and I am helping her out. All 6 rooms are going to be filled so it should be fun :)
I am trying to get a job at a natural food store here in TC as a baker. Oryana is looking to hire a part-time baker and I put my application in last week-- I am eager to see what comes of it! Please keep me in your prayers concerning this. Thank You!

Thank you for your comments!
Good-Night!

I'm home...

I came home yesterday with my family. They were at the Farmer's Market and I just rode home with them after that! But... I came back to Traverse City again today. Yes, I love my country home but TC is my second home and a good one at that! Why? Well, for one it is rated the number one Foodie city in America, the people here are just so friendly, lots of the residents here are earth-friendly and bikes are totally not only excepted, but highly encouraged (as well as walking and other forms of transportation other than vehicles). And that is totally what I like. So, Mama and I came into town to do some business stuff... Mama bought a car while I was away, a little Honda Accord. It is fun to ride around in :).

Oh, another cool thing: I am going to be learning how to make chainmail! A friend is going to be teaching me. I am probably going to make mostly bracelets and necklaces... not anything big like a shirt or armor :) Although Jack (who will be teaching me) has made a pretty large piece of chainmail in (hopes of making something like a shirt I think) but I guess it was taking pretty long and he kinda stopped doing it :) Here is a good example of what I hope to make someday (except I will be using stainless steel and it won't be blueish like the one in the photo):

I'll have to post more about it when I actually start doing it!

I'm going home tomorrow... :)

Tomorrow is the day I go home!!! I am missing my family... Especially my younger brothers. I am glad I was able to help out our friends though since Monday. It has been a very good experience for me I think.

I am tired though so this post is short...

Oh, know something my blogger friends don't know about yet... I now have dreadlocks... Yup. I'm serious. I have wanted them for a while, and was finally brave enough to do it. Now, before you overreact, let me tell you I only made two. Yes, I know, I am not brave enough to do a whole head of them! I think they look pretty cool, I just don't want to cut all my hair off when I don't want them any more! But just two little chunks of hair underneath the rest of my hair? That I don't mind. I made them so I can use them instead of hair ties and man made hair trinkets :)

On rain and other things...

For the rest of this week we are supposed to be having rain... I really like the weather because during the day it is kind of sunny, but not too hot and then in the evening it starts to rain more-- and at night? Really strong winds and hard rain showers! While staying at my friends house, I am sleeping outside in a camper. It is really nice to listen to the rain pouring down above me but when it gets windy and the camper shakes it is almost too much of a thrill.
I am sure my garden is enjoying this rain back at home... I can't wait to see it! This year I am growing a garden of my own... I planted sweet corn, beans, beets, carrots, peas, radishes, tomatoes and stevia. I am supposed to plant some sunflowers, lettuce/ spinach, and pumpkins/ gourds that I did not plant yet. I am afraid it is too late to plant the pumpkins and gourds but I think I will at least plant the sunflowers and greens.

I have bunch of pictures I would love to put up on here but I don't know of anyway to get photos off of facebook onto blogger... So I'll just give you some links you can click on to veiw them if ye wish!

This was fun to watch... I did not get to see the first part of the show where the all fly over the bay but I did get to see the night time show which was pretty cool!

And then maybe when I have a chance to go to the library again I can put some of the many many photos I have on my camera up on here!

"Sleep is the best meditation." Goodnight everyone...

Oh, by the way if anything looks funky on here (like the non-clickable links I told you to click on) don't blame me... For some reason I can't type in the "compose" section using this awesome iPad... Just the "edit html" part :)

.Beauty.

Outside there are large raindrops falling from the heavens... Inside is a new life being held in his Mother's arms... Everything feels peaceful. Beauty. In the back bedroom four young soldiers for Jesus are resting, getting ready for the battles and victories they will have tomorrow. Downstairs a father works, providing for his family. Beauty.
Resting after a busy day a friend of theirs is thankful she has this opportunity to help them out in this special time, and think about the Beauty of the Lord while finally updating her poor blog!
